#9. Germ cells are specialized cells that develop into gametes. Gametes are produced through the process of meiosis. If the diploid number for humans is 46 chromosomes, how many chromatids does a cell undergoing meosis have at each following stage? a). Growth phase 2 of interphase ( 92) MetaphaseI(46) Prophase II(46) End of Telophase( 23). b). Growth phase 2 of interphase ( 92) Metohpase I( 92) Prophase II( 46) End of telophase(0). c). Growth phase 2 of interphase ( 46) MetaphaseI(46) ProphaseII(23) End of telophase (23). d). Growth phase 2 of interphase ( 46) Metaphase 1( 92) ProphaseII(23) End of telopase(0). I think the answer they're asking for is either b or d, but im not sure.

#10.in an organism with a diploid number of 16, how many chromatids are present in mitotic phase, meiotic phase I, meiotic phase II and metotic telophase II. So far i have 32 for mitotic phase, 32 for meiotic phase I and 16 for meiotic phase II and for meiotic telophase II i have 0. Not sure if this is even correct or not.

#16. The DNA in a sunbather's skin cells may mutate after prolonged exposure to the sun. The process that will pass the mutation along to daughter cells is __(1)_, which is a muation that will ___(2)__. a). process(1) mitosis description (2) be inhereted by the children of sunbather. b). process (1) meosis description (2) be inhereted by the children of sunbather. c). process(1) meoisis description (2) not be inhereted by the children of sunbather. d). process(1)mitosis desription(2) not be inherted by the children of sunbather. i think it;s b but again im not sure.

#22. The diploid chromosome of a cat, Felis catus, 38. which of the following rows correctly identifies the number of egg cells and chromosomes in each cell after the process of oogenesis has completed? a).# of cells ( 3) # of chromosomes (114). b). # of cells (2) # of chromosomes (38). c). # of cells(1) # of chromosomes( 19). d). # of cells(4) # of chromosomes(19). i think it's b but i'm not sure.

#23. The diploid chromosome number of a dog, Canis familiaris, is 78. which of the following rows correctly identifies the number of egg cells and chromosomes in each cell after the process of spermatogenesis has completed? a).# of cells (4) # of chromosomes(39).b) # of cells(3) # of chromosomes(29).c). # of cells(2) # of chromosmes(78). d).# of cells(1) # of chromosmes(39). I think the answer is a but again i'm not sure.

#30. Oogenesis involves germ cells in the ovary undergoing meiosis to produce a functional ovum at the end of the process. which of the following cells is penentrated by a sperm cell during the process of fertlization? a). ovum, b). secondary oocyte, c).Oogina, d).primary Oocyte.

#34. why is parthenogenesis in bees consisdered to be a form of asexual reproduction? a). the male drone is made from a haploid egg. fertilization is not part of the process to make a male drone. b). although genetic material is transferred from one egg cell to another using conjugation, the resulting cells will be identical to each other. c). the formation of the original haploid cell was achieved using binary fusion. d). the haploid male bees were made through the process of meiosis, so they are identical to the parent cell. i think it is d; but i'm not sure.

#36. since the seedless bananas are tripolid(3n), and  do not produce viable seeds for reproduction. To grow more seedless banana plants, farmers take a sideshoot and replant it. this type of asexual reproduction is called: a). binary fusion, b). fragmentation, c).parthenogenesis,d).budding. i think it's a but again i am not sure if this is even correct or not.

#38.  what is the polidy of zygote during the cycle of toxoplasma gondil? a). 1n, b). 2n, c).4n, d). 3n.  i think it is b. but i am not sure

#39. the haploid genome of toxoplasma gondii has 14 chromosomes. when oocyst changes into sporozoite, its nucleus contains: a). 28 chromosomes b).14 chromosomes c). 42 chromosomes d). 7 chromosmes. i think it is a because 2*14 is 28.

Please get back with me today, if you can. Thank you and have a good day! :)

#4.which of the following cells undergo mitosis?

a). Epithelium cells

b). Nerve cells

C). Red blood cells

d). Stereocilia

i think the answer is C red blood cells but im not sure.

#5. in a cell cycle

a). DNA and RNA are replicated and passed to parent cells during interphase

b). DNA is replicated and passed to homologous chromosomes during interphase

c). DNA is replicated and passed to daughter cells during mitosis

d). DNA and RNA are replicated and passed to sister chromatids during miotic phase

i think the answer is b but im not sure

#6. when analyzing a normal human male karyotype, all of the chromosomes can be stored into homologous pairs EXCEPT: a). autosomal chromosome number 18. b). sex chromosomes. c). chromosome pair number 21. d). X chromosomes. I think the answer is D but again i am not 100% sure.

#7. which of the following statements does NOT correctly desciribe the characterisitics of homologous chromosome? a). the size and shape of the chromosomes are the same. b). they contain the same genes. c). they contain identical alleles. d).they have centromeres located at the same spot.

#9. Autosomal homologous chromosomes: a). are all the same size but different shape. b). are joined at the centromere. c). have identical gene locations and alleles. d). consists of a copy of the parental and maternal chromosome.

#18. Identify the main phases of interphase in the correct order: a). growth, mitosis and cytokinesis. b). growth and synthesis. c). growth, synthesis and mitosis. d). growth 1, synethsis, growth 2. I think the answer is d. But again im not sure.

Hi there, the reason why i decided to post all of the questions that i have is becasue i am unable to post more than 1 post for some odd reason. I also posted a question last night and no one got back with me. Please get back with me today. Thank you and have a good day!
