Start by looking somewhere in the Middle East maybe. You can pick one. Once you have you want to start looking at the history of the country. Once you have an idea fo that look at the political history and have that feed into your topic about politics- the history of political parties in that country maybe, as well as any of the policies put forth by parties or people if there isn't a political party in charge (note that there may not be a party in charge in these countries- and if there is look at the voters in that country- who can vote? could this be an impetus for unrest?) For social circumstances, look at anything to do with differences in class. It's a tough subject to write about, but if you're looking for a jumping off point I would start by looking at if the country has experienced this in the past, what happened politically to make for an uneasy environment which would facilitate this action, and what has happened socially to create an environment which has caused this.
Using this information you should be able to find graphs as well in relation to these points- remember to cite them correctly according to how your teacher has told you to as you should with all the information you get. If you're ever not sure about the formatting of a citation such as APA or MLA Purdue OWL is a great resource for this!
Those topics also by virtue set themselves up for amazing transition sentences. Just follow basic essay conventions and you'll do great!
