A quadratic function has zeros at -3/2 and 6. The graph of the function passes through the points (1,-12.5). What is the equation of the function, in standard form?

y = a (x-p) (x-q)

p = -3/2   &    q = 6

-12.5 = a (1-(-3/2)) (1-6)

-12.5 = a * 2.5 * (-5)

-12.5 = -12.5 a

a = 1

y = 1 (x-(-1.5)) (x-6)

y = (x+1.5) (x-6)

y = x2 -6x +1.5x -6*1.5

y = x- 4.5x - 9
