Reduction of MnO4-: Mn is getting reduced to +2 from +7 oxidation state as permanganate is an oxidizing agent

MnO4- + 8H+ + 5e- -> Mn2+ + 4H2O

Oxidization of Sn2+:

Sn2+ -> Sn4+ + 2e-

Net reaction after balancing both equations to take out the electrons becomes:

5Sn2+ + 2MnO4 + 16H+ -> 5Sn4+ + 2Mn2+ + 8H2O
