What you're looking at here is whether you understand the math definitions of five words:

Deductive Reasoning: you use known facts to draw a new conclusion. For example - you have a group of people, all of whom are bakers; bakers have to get up early in the morning to make bread; Jim is in your group. You can deduce that Jim has to get up early in the morning.

Inductive Reasoning: arriving at a new conclusion based on observations. For example - most of the early-morning people you have met are bakers. Your friend Jim is a morning person, so he's probably a baker.

Premise: a statement assumed to be true. For example: "all bakers get up early in the morning"

Paradox: a statement that both makes sense but also cannot be true. For example: you travel back in time and stop the Titanic from sinking. Present-day you wouldn't have a reason to travel back in time if the Titanic never sank but the Titanic sinks if you don't travel back in time.

Conjecture: something you assume to be true based on supporting evidence, but you haven't PROVEN that it's true. Think of it like an educated guess
