Step one, is to understand what the problem is asking. In other words, read and think about the question. Step two, highlight the key numbers in the quesion and make a plan. In other words, choose the operation and create a plan on solving it. Step three, solve the problem. Step four, check over your work and make sure it makes sense. Step five, explain your work.
