Studying Tips & Tricks
Below are my top 6 tips for effective studying. They may seem really basic but they can make all the difference when preparing for those big exams.
- Lots of Practice – Do practice finals and practice problems. Repetition will help you remember key concepts.
- Sleep – at least 7-8 hours a night. Your brain processes what you have learned while you are sleeping.
- Eat Well – your brain needs nourishment. It's also hard to focus when your stomach is grumbling.
- Make Study Sheets – write down important key points or equations for easy reference. This will help you review your notes quicker and the process of summarizing your notes is a great way to lock that information in your mind.
- Practice exams – write in an exam-like setting (alone, no notes, under time limit) to learn time/stress management.
- Memorizing practice – learn methods/strategies to remember information. Using acronyms, associations or even songs can be a great way to remember tricky or confusing concepts.
Hope these tips are helpful when you are preparing for your next exam or quiz!
