Hi! My name is Shantel. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Physics with a minor in Applied Mathematics from the University of Calgary. I have been teaching physics and math over the past 10 years as a Private Tutor, Learning Centre Instructor, and a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Calgary. I also previously led a Peer Tutoring service at the university for the Physics and Astronomy Students' Association. I currently work in industry as an research and development scientist and continue to tutor part-time. I have had excellent success rates with students, raising them to A-levels of performance with personalized study plans and down-to-earth explanations. By providing an understanding and empathetic approach to student struggles and developing effective action plans, I help students uncover their best learning strategies to progress onto various successful career paths later in life. ***A note on booking***: I generally book 1.5-hour sessions. I find this allows for the highest success rates with students, gives enough time to cover all homework, focus on problem areas and test understanding.
